This English version is provided for your convenience. In case of any difference, the French version prevails.

Read the French version

Provisional version, under review. These terms will be completed and reviewed before the service opens. This is a translation: the French version prevails.

Purpose

These terms of use govern the use of the Funary app and the funary.fr website. By creating an account, you accept them.

The service

Funary helps a family handle together the formalities that follow a death: a list of formalities suited to your situation, letter templates, shared follow-up between relatives, a document safe, shared expenses and reminders.

Part of the service is free, in particular all the formalities for the first 48 hours and the first week. The Family file unlocks the rest of the file for all its members: it is a one-off payment per file, with no subscription, made through the App Store or Google Play. A partner, such as a notary or a mutual insurer, can also offer a Family file through a personal link.

Information, not advice

Funary provides information based on official sources, cited with the date they were checked. This information does not replace the advice of a notary or a legal professional, and each organisation alone decides on your entitlements. Funary never sends letters on your behalf: letters are prepared for you to send yourself.

Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email address, or with your Apple ID. You are responsible for access to your phone and your email address.

The shared file

The person who creates a file organises it: they invite relatives, choose who sees which documents and can hand over the organisation to someone else. Each member undertakes to respect the privacy of the person who died and of the other members, and remains responsible for the documents and comments they add.

Availability

The list of formalities and documents already opened remain available without a connection; your actions are sent when the network returns. We do what is needed to keep the service available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Closing and deleting

The organiser can close a file: its members can still view and export it, but not change it. A deleted file is permanently deleted after 30 days, during which the deletion can be cancelled. Everyone can delete their account from the app.

Personal data

How your data is processed is described on the Privacy page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. The details of the consumer mediator are to be completed.
